Breedlove Guitars – Custom Orders

Custom Breedlove Masterclass Guitars are available to you through Sutton Strings.

One starting point is to select a standard Masterclass model and customize it with your own choices for tone woods, electronics, inlays, frets, finishes and other options. Alternatively, you can start from the ground up and build your own model from scratch that is uniquely yours.

All guitars are built to order in Bend, Oregon (pronounced “Orygun”) by Breedlove’s master luthiers by hand from start to finish with the utmost care. Below, you will find all of the options for customization that are available to you. Please contact us at sales@suttonstrings.com for a quote and to place an order. Allow 2-3 months for a custom Breedlove to be completed.

ANTHEM

Overview

LOUD ANALOG REAL
After 30 years of effort we have done the very thing that every amplified acoustic guitarist has dreamed about and the very thing that no other pickup manufacturer has been capable of—unlocking the potential of a microphone to capture the very essence of your guitar with high feedback resistance for demanding stages.

Not obvious but equally important is that the natural ease and dynamics of the Anthem Tru-Mic liberates you to play freely without having to compensate for the pickup system. Now you’re free to play the way you like, plugged in or not.

For the Anthem we used no modeling, no illusions, it’s not “like” a mic, it’s not “like” your guitar. This is a mic and what you will experience is your guitar, loud and with the fidelity and dynamics that come from a real microphone.

TRU MIC TECHNOLOGY
At the heart of the patent pending Anthem is a revolutionary new type of microphone. Utilizing a proprietary noise canceling mic, the Anthem Tru-Mic eliminates any annoying honky or boxy qualities that have been previously associated with internal mic’ing, leaving the pure and natural sound of your guitar the way only a real mic is capable of doing.

Because the mic is positioned within a few millimeters of the guitar top, it has very high gain before feedback. The mic housing mounts easily to the bridge plate and the mic capsule hovers just 3 mm above its surface to take advantage of the PZM or “boundary” effect. This Tru-Mic technology picks up the sound of the vibrations of the entire soundboard and makes the mic unusually free from placement issues.

MIC AND PICK-UP
A RADICAL NEW TECHNOLOGY
The sound quality and feedback resistance of the Anthem Tru-Mic now allows the mic to be the primary sound source in a mic/pickup system. This is unlike previous systems where only a small amount of the mic could be used to add some “air” to the dominant pickup signal. This is a radical new relationship between a mic and a pickup, as all of the detail, warmth and personality of your guitar is captured by the Tru-mic. The mic is augmented, for only the very lowest frequencies, by our Element under saddle pickup.

CONTROLS
The feather-weight control unit contains all of the essentials; volume, mix and phase. It nestles securely just inside of the soundhole for easy fingertip access. The mix control allows a full blend between the augmented mic and full range pickup. A multi-segment battery check allows you to maximize battery life and peace of mind.

Under the hood is an all discrete preamp/mixer with our pure, clean LR Baggs signature sound that is trusted by top artists around the world. We have done all of the engineering so you can just plug in and enjoy the real sound of your guitar and the way you play, night after night.

DUAL SOURCE

Overview

The Dual Source System is a miniature internally mounted microphone/pickup mixing system that seamlessly combines our patented Element transducer with a high quality FET condenser microphone. The ultra-quiet preamp mounts non-destructively inside of the instrument and features all discrete audiophile circuitry for our signature quality sound. The preamp controls have ample flexibility to fine tune the response of your individual guitar.

M1 PASSIVE

M1 ACTIVE

Overview

The M1 Active is a body-sensitive soundhole magnetic pickup designed to fill large arenas and cut through the mix on a loud stage without feeding back. Plug in and you will quickly find that it has never been easier to get a superior live sound from your acoustic guitar! Unlike other soundhole magnetic pickups, the M1 Active captures both string and soundboard vibrations, creating a huge and natural sound from one pickup. The adjustable pole pieces allow for the perfect balance in any acoustic guitar. Feel free to plug directly in to your acoustic amplifier or PA system because the built in preamp bypasses the need for additional external preamps. If you are looking to eliminate the trade-off between ease and performance, this is the pickup for you.

ELEMENT ACTIVE VTC

Overview

Think you know what undersaddle transducers are all about? Think again. The Element VTC delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.

The Element Active System – Volume and Tone Control (VTC) pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume and tone control for added convenience and versatility. The entire system is designed to install easily and features plug-and-play performance. Also included is our Battery Bagg for secure battery storage.
